Members of the Marine team with volunteers from Humber Rescue

Associated British Ports (ABP) Humber is delighted to announce its support for Humber Rescue as one of its chosen charities this year.

ABP has for many years supported many worthwhile causes and supported events in the Humber region. Humber Rescue, as a voluntary service, provides crucial search and rescue services in the Humber Estuary, and is a great fit.

Simon Bird, Regional Director of the Humber ports said: “ABP supports many local charities, and we are always willing to support initiatives which foster meaningful connections and make a positive impact on the community.

“Humber Rescue is a worthwhile cause and does great and valuable work along the Estuary. Our support will enable it to continue the work they do to ensure that Humber Rescue’s volunteers can keep saving lives.”

Dave Roberts, Chairman of Humber Rescue, expressed his excitement about the partnership: "We are thrilled to welcome ABP onboard as a partner with Humber Rescue. Their support and collaboration are invaluable as we continue our rescue operations and ensure the safety of our community. This partnership comes at a momentous time as we celebrate our 35th anniversary, reflecting on our journey and looking ahead to a future of continued service on the Humber Estuary.”

"As an independent lifeboat station, we provide critical, life-saving services to those in need. Without our dedicated team and the support from partners like ABP, many individuals in dire situations would not receive the urgent care and assistance they require. This partnership will allow our charity to grow from strength to strength, further improving our capabilities and the outcomes we can deliver."

"ABP’s commitment to safety and community aligns perfectly with Humber Rescue’s values and goals. Together, we are dedicated to upholding the highest standards and providing timely, effective responses to callouts. This partnership not only strengthens our resources but also underscores our shared commitment to protecting lives on the Humber."

"We look forward to a fruitful and enduring partnership with ABP. Their support will undoubtedly enhance our ability to serve our community, ensuring that Humber Rescue continues to be a beacon of hope and security for all those who venture onto our waters."

Humber Rescue now join The Sailors’ Children’s Society, Hull and East Riding Children's University, Armed Forces North East Lincolnshire, ABP Humber Coastal Half Marathon and 10k, Grimsby and Cleethorpes Sea Cadets, and Immingham Museum.

As a responsible business, ABP undertakes corporate social responsibility (CSR) through supporting charitable causes and initiatives which help local communities surrounding its port locations.
