The 2024 ABP Humber Coastal Half Marathon and 10k attracted a great crowd.

Associated British Ports (ABP) are delighted to continue to be the headline sponsors of the ABP Humber Coastal Half Marathon and 10k organised by Tape2Tape.

Following this year’s successful race which saw thousands of runners and visitors head to the east coast, ABP, the UK’s largest port operator, has renewed its agreement as headline sponsor for the next three years.

ABP has a history of supporting events focusing on sport and sponsors the Newport Marathon, Southampton Marathon, Cardiff Half Marathon, and Ipswich Twilight.

Simon Bird, Regional Director for the Humber ports said: “It’s our eighth year in loyally supporting this race and every year we see such great support from the runners and the people that come along to cheer.

“We believe that events like this make a difference in the community. We’re all for supporting gatherings that improve wellbeing, are family orientated and bring people together. ABP is committed to sponsor it for another three years.”

“Nicola and Neil from Tape2Tape are such a driving force behind the race and this is our chance to support them to ensure they continue to deliver for the entire neighbourhood’s benefit, from runners to businesses and visitors.”

Nicola and Neil Pattison, the organisers from Tape2Tape said: "We are thrilled that ABP Humber has chosen to continue their generous support of this wonderful community event, which is a highly anticipated and essential part of our local calendar. As members of the community, we take great pride in organising this event, which fosters unity and showcases the numerous benefits of leading an active lifestyle. We are incredibly grateful to ABP for their unwavering support, as their contribution is indispensable to the success of this event."

The race, which takes place on Sunday 21st September 2025 attracts 2000 runners. Coming into its ninth-year runners can choose from the half marathon (13.1 miles/21 km), a 10k (6.21 miles) or a fun run (1 mile) for the children.

The 10-kilometre race is very attractive to running newcomers, as well as seasoned participants who wish to run a fast 10k time. The flat multi-terrain half marathon has some fantastic views of the Humber Estuary, the busiest in the UK, and takes in the RSPB reserve, making it fast paced.

The event supports the local community with many charities and groups getting involved and enjoying coming together with others to celebrate this fantastic race. With closed roads and chip timing, runners can be assured of a fabulous event with a medal, cake, and a technical tee shirt at the end.
