December 6, 2013

SITUATION UPDATE ISSUED ON FRIDAY 6 DECEMBER AT 15.45HRS

The following ABP ports are open and operational following the tidal surge which took place on the east coast of England on Thursday, 5 December: Hull, Goole, Grimsby and Ipswich.

The A63 Castle Street in Hull has reopened and earlier congestion on the road network linking to the Port has now eased.

The Port of Immingham continues to face severe disruption to operations. Customers are being given live updates whilst issues are being resolved.

The Inner Harbour at the Port of Lowestoft remains closed, whilst the Outer Harbour is open. All roads around the Port have reopened.

Work to assess damage to port infrastructure and equipment, as well as cargoes stored at ports, continues.

ABP is continuing to liaise closely with public authorities and relevant agencies.

Every effort is being made to restore full operations at the Ports of Immingham and Lowestoft as quickly as possible.
