Surrounded by an impressive natural harbour known as Plymouth Sound, the Port of Plymouth’s Millbay Docks has a tidal basin with 13 ha of water. With a 200-m long berth and an anchorage ground for vessels of up to 300 m in length, the port is large enough to accommodate most ocean-going cruise liners. Plymouth is an increasingly popular port of call for cruise liners and provides the shortest ferry route to western France and the Iberian peninsula. The port supports a wide range of ro-ro operations, and is equipped with purpose-built facilities for freight and passengers.
