At the forefront of the future of cruise
Five world-class cruise terminals
The Port of Southampton boasts five world-class cruise terminals.
The ports newest terminal, the £55m Horizon Cruise Terminal, is open access and welcomed its first passengers in July 2021.
Horizon Cruise Terminal is home to the UK’s first shore power facility for cruise ships, due to be commissioned by Summer 2022. The terminal has 2,234 roof-mounted solar panels, generating more energy than it uses.
A second shore power connection will be located at the port’s Mayflower Cruise Terminal soon.
This significant step towards supporting sustainable cruising supports this developing part of the industry, and strengthens the port’s position as Europe’s leading cruise turnaround port. The terminal opens further opportunities for cruise operators to operate through Southampton.
